While housing is a human right, global housing systems both reflect and perpetuate inequality. Financialized housing markets serve the wealthy few, prioritizing profit over people and leaving billions without access to adequate housing. However, across the world, the mobilization of often under-resourced local actors and grassroots organizations, in addition to collaboration with governments to deliver innovative, community-centered solutions to address this crisis demonstrate that the current global housing crisis is not inevitable. 

Join the Pathfinders for Peaceful, Just and Inclusive Societies (hosted at the NYU Center on International Cooperation), the International Institute for Environment and Development, and the London School of Economics on February 12th as we create a space to share experiences and ideas. We want to hear from policymakers, activists, academics, and advocates from around the world! Together, we’ll discuss what’s working, what isn’t, and how we can ignite public and political imagination while grounding rhetoric in reality.
